Cookie Policy

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. It is used to remember information between pages or between visits. Alongside cookies there are other similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, which serve a similar purpose and which this policy treats the same way.
Our approach
On this site we do not store any advertising or analytics cookie until you give us your consent. Google Tag Manager and Google tags initially run with all four Consent Mode v2 states denied. In that state Google may receive cookieless technical signals about consent state for aggregated measurement, but it may not read or write analytics or advertising cookies.
We use Advanced Consent Mode v2. If you accept, all four states (analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization) become granted. If you reject, they remain denied and Google cookies are not created.
Cookies we use
Technical (no consent required)
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ad_consent | Local storage, first-party | Remembering whether you accepted or rejected advertising cookies, so you are not asked again on every visit | 24 months |
This cookie is strictly necessary for the consent system itself to work, and is therefore exempt from requiring prior authorization. It is not shared with anyone and never leaves your browser.
Advertising and analytics (only if you accept them)
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Cookie, third-party | Measuring whether a visit coming from an ad ends up contacting us | 90 days | |
_gcl_aw | Cookie, third-party | Linking your visit to the specific ad you clicked on | 90 days | |
_ga | Cookie, third-party | Distinguishing unique users in Google Analytics | 2 years | |
_ga_<identifier> | Cookie, third-party | Maintaining session state in Google Analytics (one per measurement property) | 2 years |
The first two belong to Google Ads; the last two, to Google Analytics. The tools are managed through Google Tag Manager, which does not itself set cookies. Before acceptance, tags receive denied consent states; the cookies in this table may only be set after acceptance. Google may set additional cookies associated with these services; you can check the current list and how they work in Google's documentation on the use of cookies in its services.
We do not use social media or content-personalization cookies.
How to give or withdraw your consent
The first time you visit, we show you a notice with two options, accept and reject, given equal weight. The notice does not close on its own: it stays until you choose one of the two.
You can change your decision at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link found in the footer of every page. Clicking it brings the notice back so you can choose again.
Your decision is kept for 24 months. After that period, we will ask you again.
How to manage them from your browser
Regardless of the above, you can block or delete cookies from your browser's settings. Each browser handles this differently; look for the privacy or browsing data section in its settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how this and other websites work.
International transfers
If you accept advertising and analytics cookies, Google may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area. Google states that it bases these transfers on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. More information is available in Google's privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update it if the tools we use or the applicable regulations change. The date of the last update appears at the top.
